Oh yeah, Happy Girl's Day!

March the 3rd is Hinamatsuri..."The Doll's Festival", or "Girl's Festival." It is a day where Girls are celebrated and families give thanks for having Daughters. Beautiful Dolls called Hina-ningyou are displayed only on this day, with the Dolls exhibited on elaborate tiered stands. Special rice cakes for the occassion, called hishi-mochi are also placed on the stand.
