The Four Kinds of Love

I was chatting with a friend recently and he the subject of love came up. He was able to put into words my feelings on the subject in a way that i've never quiet been able to. I thought it was so profound, i wanted to record it here..


There are four main types of connections that people can share; they are Body, Mind, Heart, and Soul

Body is chemistry... physical compatibility, passion, lust, etc

Mind is conversation and intellect.. being able to talk and talk and talk to each other and never get bored

Heart is the aspect of love that people write poetry about.. the butterflies in the tummy.. the romantic side

and Soul is the unexplainable feeling of knowing someone the moment you meet them. like, when you meet someone and you instantly feel like you've known them forever.. that is a strong Soul connection

not all are required for a relationship, but the strongest relationships need all four in both directions. when both people feel all four toward each other, they make the highest form of love; True Love. The key to a successful relationship is recognizing which you have, and which are most important to you

Hamakosan: yeah.. the latter is definitely the rarest..
Anonymous: it is also the only one that can't grow over time

Anonymous: and, i discovered recently, it is the most important one to me
